The Line: Michigan Wolverines -7 -- Over/Under: 41
The unbeaten Michigan State Spartans visit Michigan Stadium to face the rival Michigan Wolverines.
The Michigan State Spartans don’t seem to be as fearsome as they were in previous seasons but at the end of the day their 6-0 record says a lot. The Spartans squeezed by Rutgers 31-24 despite outgaining the Scarlet Knights by a healthy 489-349 margin. LJ Scott led an ordinary MSU rushing attack with 42 yards on nine carries with a pair of scores with Gerald Holmes adding 37 yards on five touches but the passing attack came to the rescue. Quarterback Connor Cook was the star of the Spartans offense with 357 yards on 23-38 with a pair of touchdowns and a pick with Aaron Burbridge caught nine passes for 146 yards.
The Michigan Wolverines certainly do look like a different team under Jim Harbaugh especially on the defensive side of the football where they have recorded three consecutive shutouts after downing Northwestern 38-0 in week six. The offense looked average with 380 yards but the defense gave up a mere 168 yards. Throw in a 96 yard kick return by Jehu Chesson to open the game and a 37 yard pick six from Jourdan Lewis and the Wolverines were in complete control. The UM passing attack was in good hands with Jake Rudock hitting 17-23 for 179 yards with Jake Butt and AJ Williams combining for seven catches for 88 yards. De’Veon Smith paced Michigan with eight rushes for 59 yards while Derrick Green added 47 yards on 12 touches and a TD.
The Spartans are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall and are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win while going 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss. The Wolverines are 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and the under is 6-1 in Wolverines last 7 games following a SU win of more than 20 points while going 6-1 in Wolverines last 7 home games. The Spartans are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 meetings and the under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Michigan. The Spartans are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 meetings and the under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings while Michigan State are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Michigan. I think Michigan has the ammunition to win by double digits with their nasty defense…
