The Indiana State Sycamores look for another victory after beating up on Butler opening week. Isaac Harker is completing 60 percent of his passes for 315 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Harker has to duplicate such a performance in order for ISU to have a shot. Tonyan Rober and Jacq McClendon have combined for 157 receiving yards on 11 catches while Bob Pugh has three receptions. The Indiana State Sycamores ground game is averaging 145 yards per contest, and Dimitri Taylor leads the way with 68 yards on 12 carries. Defensively, Indiana State is allowing 24 points and 390 yards per game. Tsali Lough leads the Sycamores with eight tackles, Kenyot Rollins has one sack and Jameer Thurman has two pass deflections.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers to build on their impressive opening victory over the Oregon State Beavers. Mitch Leidner is completing 50 percent of his passes for 130 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Leidner has two touchdown passes in his last two games. Drew Wolitarsky and Nate Wozniak have combined for 86 receiving yards on seven catches while Tyler Johnson has three receptions. The Minnesota Golden Gophers ground game is averaging 150 yards per contest, and Rodney Smith leads the way with 125 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Minnesota is allowing 23 points and 317 yards per game. Jonathan Celestin leads the Golden Gophers with seven tackles, Tai'yon Devers has two sacks and KiAnte Hardin has two pass deflections.
Minnesota is capable of playing better than it showed opening week and has now had nine days to prepare for this contest. Indiana State isn't a good football team capable of hanging around with the physical play of the Golden Gophers.
This is a game Minnesota should win in a blowout before heading into a bye week.
