CFB | Minnesota Golden Gophers (7-2) at Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-2)

The Minnesota Golden Gophers and Nebraska Cornhuskers meet Saturday night in a Big Ten college football game at Memorial Stadium.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers look to build on their four-game winning streak and take control of the Big Ten West. The Minnesota Golden Gophers have one win over a ranked team since the 2014 season. Mitch Leidner is completing 57.9 percent of his passes for 1,505 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions. Leidner has zero touchdown passes in his last four games. Drew Wolitarsky and Brian Smith have combined for 858 receiving yards and four touchdowns while Rashad Still has nine receptions. The Minnesota Golden Gophers ground game is averaging 210.3 yards per contest, and Rodney Smith leads the way with 954 yards and 13 touchdowns. Defensively, Minnesota is allowing 23.1 points and 350.7 yards per game. Jonathan Celestin leads the Minnesota Golden Gophers with 64 tackles, Steven Richardson has five sacks and KiAnte Hardin has two interceptions.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers would love a bounce back victory after losing back-to-back road games. The Nebraska Cornhuskers have won six of their last seven home games. Tommy Armstrong Jr. is completing 51.3 percent of his passes for 1,838 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Armstrong has one or less touchdown passes in six straight games. Stanley Morgan Jr. and Jordan Westerkamp have combined for 726 receiving yards and five touchdowns while Alonzo Moore has 13 receptions. The Nebraska Cornhuskers ground game is averaging 190 yards per contest, and Terrell Newby leads the way with 642 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Nebraska is allowing 23.2 points and 369.7 yards per game. Josh Banderas leads the Nebraska Cornhuskers with 60 tackles, Ross Dzuris has 4.5 sacks and Nathan Gerry has four interceptions.

The Golden Gophers are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 19-8-1 ATS in their last 28 conference games. The Cornhuskers are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games following a straight up loss and 4-1-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The under is 6-1 in Cornhuskers last 7 games overall and the over is 7-2 in Golden Gophers last 9 conference games.

Armstrong is still questionable with a concussion and considering how he looked last week, I'm going to assume hes not playing. So, with that in mind, I'd be forced to take Minnesota and the free touchdown. The Golden Gophers are a solid team defensively and should be able to make life difficult for the Cornhuskers. I just can't lay a decent sized number with a likely backup quarterback. Although the best bet would be leaving this game alone.

Minnesota Golden Gophers +7
