The Fresno State Bulldogs take the field with the Nevada Wolf Pack at MacKay Stadium Saturday.
The Fresno State Bulldogs had a postseason appearance in their sights a few short weeks ago but have made their own life difficult. The Bulldogs dropped three in a row before getting back in the win column with a 38-24 victory over visiting San Jose State. FSU took a 28-14 lead in to the half and held on for the win with a nlocked punt for a touchdown perhaps a backbreaker for the Spartans with both squads rather even in the boxscore. The Bulldogs were balanced with Marteze Waller running for 145 yards and a score while Josh Quezada ran for 112 yards. Brian Burrell completed 20-26 for 207 yards with three touchdowns and an interception.
The Nevada Wolf Pack have been a strong team in 2014 thus far and where things go from here is anybody's guess. The Wolf Pack had won three in a row before getting outscored 45-38 in overtime by Air Force in week 12. Neither team stopped the other with Nevada holding a 498-471 with the Falcons leaning on the run and the Wolf Pack able to run and throw equally well. Don Jackson was the workhorse on the ground with 121 yards on 28 carries with three trips to the endzone while Cody Fajardo totaling 100 yards on eleven totes while throwing for 275 yards with an interception with scoring tosses to Jerico Richardson and Hasaan Henderson. The Wolf Pack forced OT on a 22 yard field goal by Brent Zuzo.
The over is 4-0 in Bulldogs last 4 games in November and the under is 3-0-1 in Bulldogs last 4 games following a S.U. win while the Bulldogs are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game. For Nevada the under is 4-0 in Wolf Pack last 4 vs. a team with a losing record and is 9-1 in Wolf Pack last 10 games following a S.U. loss while the under is 7-1 in Wolf Pack last 8 home games. Head to head the over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Nevada and the road team is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings while the Bulldogs are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Nevada. I don't care for the spread but I feel the superior team at home is the way to go...
