The Fresno State Bulldogs and the New Mexico State Aggies will meet up on the college football circuit Saturday.
Fresno State comes in here at 1-2 overall. The Bulldogs fell to USC 31-23 and Minnesota 38-35 before picking up a win over Sac State 34-20 last weekend.
In the victory, Fresno QB Jorge Reyna put up 312 yards and two TDs, and Josh Hokit led the rush on 72 yards and two scores. Keric Wheatfall had 98 yards on three grabs as well.
Over on the NM State side, they’re 0-4 this year. The Aggies have fallen to Washington State 58-7, Alabama 62-10, San Diego State 31-10 and New Mexico 55-52.
In the Week 4 loss, NM State QB Josh Adkins put up 335 yards, three touchdowns and a pick, and Jason Huntley added 114 rush yards and a score. Adkins also had three rushing scores of his own.
The Bulldogs are 4-0 ATS in their last four on turf and 4-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record. Fresno is 28-8-2 ATS in their last 38 overall and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 road games.
Meanwhile, the Aggies are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 overall and 3-10 ATS in the last 13 non-conference games. NM State is 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the Mountain West an 1-8 ATS in their last nine at home.
Fresno flexed their offensive muscle against an okay Sacramento State team, posting 20 points in the fourth quarter alone. Despite 52 points in their last game, I’m not convinced New Mexico State can bang out a cover here. I’m going to stick with Fresno State.
