The Northern Illinois Huskies host conference rival the Ohio Bobcats in Saturday college football.
The Ohio Bobcats are gunning for a third straight victory after downing Kent State 27-26 in week six as an 11.5 point favorite. Ohio was outgained 472-414 and lost the turnover battle 4-2 and never led until 1:28 remained in the 4th quarter.
Ohio quarterback Nathan Rourke was deadly efficient as he connected on 18-20 for 284 yards and a touchdown along with an interception while rushing for 49 yards and a score on 15 carries.
AJ Ouellette gave the Bobcats 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 18 rushes while Andrew Meyer was the top receiving option with 90 yards on four receptions including a 59 scoring catch.
The Northern Illinois Huskies ran their conference record to 2-0 following a 24-16 victory at Ball State as a three point favorite. Northern Illinois came up short in yardage department 391-370 but were strong on the ground with over five yards per carry.
Huskies quarterback Marcus Childers connected on 18-29 for 143 yard and a touchdown and interception while running nine times for just five yards.
The Huskies did their best work on the ground behind a 12 carry, 130 performance with Tre Harbison added 48 yards and a pair of scores on 15 totes. DJ Brown was the only NIU receiver of note with seven catches for 48 yards and a TD.
