NC State will try remain unbeaten as they host the Louisville Cardinals this weekend.
NC State improved to 4-0 last week when they blew out South Alabama 63-13 last week. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett looked sharp yet again completing 18 of 23 passes for 218 yards and 2 touchdowns. It was a big day for the Wolfpack running backs; Shadrach Thornton carried the ball 12 times for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns. Matthew Dayes also added 104 yards on 8 carries for 3 touchdowns. Wide Receiver Jaylen Samuels led the team with 5 catches for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jerod Fernandez and Germaine Pratt each recorded an interception last week. NC State will get their first real opponent this week when they take on Louisville.
Louisville won their first game of the season last week 45-3 against Samford. Quarterback Lamar Jackson completed 15 of his 22 passes for 212 yards and 1 touchdown while throwing 1 interception. Jackson also added 184 yards on the ground and 2 rushing touchdowns. Running back Brandon Radcliff carried the ball only 6 times for 36 yards and 1 touchdown. Wide Receiver James Quick led the team with 3 catches for 69 yards and 1 touchdown. James Alexander, Chucky Williams and Trumaine Washington all recorded an interception last week. Louisville will try to pick up their first ACC win this week against NC State.
Louisville is 1-7 against the spread in their last 8 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game. The Cardinals are also 25-8 against the spread in their last 33 road games. NC State is 5-0 against the spread in their last 5 games following a win. The Wolfpack are 7-0 against the spread in their last 7 games overall.
Louisville has had a rough start but they are to good of a team to be 1-3. NC State is unbeaten but they havent played any good teams so we dont know how good they really are. I think NC State will get a surprise this week from a motivated Louisville team. I think Louisville will keep this game close and even have a chance to win. Take Louisville and the points on the road.
