NC State is coming off of a 34-17 loss to the Florida State Seminoles where they scored all of their points in the first quarter. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett passed the ball 47 times completing 27 of them for 209 yards and 1 touchdown. Brissett also added 17 carries for only 25 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Running back Jaylen Samuels carried the ball 7 times for 23 yards and no touchdowns. The leading receiver for the Wolfpack was David J. Grinnage who caught 7 passes for 63 yards. Bra’lon Cherry also added 3 receptions for 46 yards. NC State will try to bounce back when they host Syracuse this weekend.
Syracuse is coming off of their 7th loss in a row getting beat by Clemson 37-27. Quarterback Zack Mahoney completed 8 out of his 21 passes for 80 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions. Mahoney also added 10 carries for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. Running back George Morris carried the ball 14 times for 80 yards and no touchdowns. The leading receiver for the Orange was Steve Ishmael who caught 1 pass for 28 yards. Receiver Brisly Estime also added 2 catches for 24 yards. Syracuse will try to snap this losing streak against NC State.
Syracuse is 1-5 against the spread in their last 6 road games. The Orange are 4-1 against the spread vs. a team with a winning record. NC State is 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 games following a straight up loss. The Wolfpack are 1-4 against the spread in their last 5 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game.
NC State is easily the better team out of these two. Syracuse has lost 7 games in a row and just cant seem to find a way to win a game. The Wolfpack should be able to win this game fairly easily. Take NC State to win at home.
