The red hot Tar Heels will host in state rivals the Duke Blue Devils.
The North Carolina Tar Heels have extended their winning streak to 7 games after beating Pittsburgh 26-19. With this win North Carolina has made it into the top 25. Quarterback Marquise Williams is the heart and soul of this offense. Williams went 14/23 for 270 yards and 2 touchdowns. Williams also added 9 carries for 52 yards on the ground. Running back Elijah Hood carried the ball 20 times for 98 yards and no touchdowns. The Tar Heels receivers were led by Ryan Switzer who caught 5 passes for 126 yards and 1 touchdown. Mack Hollins also added 2 catches for 81 yards and 1 touchdown. North Carolina has their offense and defense working right now and will try to keep it rolling when Duke comes into town.
The Duke Blue Devils suffered a tough loss to the Miami Hurricanes 30-27 making their record 6-2. They lost on a series of laterals on the last play of the game and some will say robbed by the officials on some controversial calls. Quarterback Thomas Sirk completed 31 out of his 52 passes for 258 yards and 1 touchdown. Sirk also added 13 carries for 51 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Running back Jela Duncan led the team with 7 carries for 51 rushing yards and a touchdown. Wide Receiver Max McCaffrey led the team with 9 catches for 90 yards and no touchdowns. Wide Receiver Johnell Barnes caught the only touchdown for the Blue Devils. It will be interesting to see how Duke reacts after this loss but, they better be ready because North Carolina is red hot.
The Duke Blue Devils are 6-0 against the spread in their last 6 road games. The Duke Blue Devils are 8-1 against the spread in their last 9 games following an against the spread loss. North Carolina is 5-2 against the spread in their last 7 games overall. The Tar Heels are 7-3 against the spread vs. a team with a winning record.
It is hard to go against North Carolina because they have been on fire winning 7 games in a row but, the Duke Blue Devils are a decent team that will be able to hang with them. I like North Carolina to win this game but i believe that Duke will keep it close. Take Duke and the points.
