The Line: South Carolina Gamecocks -3 -- Over/Under: 64
The North Carolina Tar Heels and South Carolina Gamecocks play Thursday at the Bank of America Stadium.
The North Carolina Tar Heels have won 13 games their last two seasons and hope to take that next step under Larry Fedora. Marquise Williams returns at quarterback after completing 63.1 percent of his passes for 3,073 yards, 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Ryan Switzer and Mack Hollins combined for more than 1,300 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns while Quinshad Davis has six touchdowns on 41 catches. T.J. Logan returns at running back after topping 500 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Jeff Schoettmer returns at linebacker after racking up 74 tackles, Jessie Rogers had 5.5 sacks and Brian Walker had three interceptions.
The South Carolina Gamecocks look to keep rolling under coach Steve Spurrier and make an eighth straight bowl game. Connor Mitch will take over at quarterback despite having just six pass attempts for 19 yards. Pharoh Cooper and Jerell Adams combined for more than 1,400 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while David Williams had seven receptions. Brandon Wilds takes over at running back after racking up 570 yards and four touchdowns. Skai Moore returns at linebacker after racking up 93 tackles, Gerald Dixon had two sacks and Jordan Diggs had five tackles for loss.
The Tar Heels are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games in September. The Gamecocks are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games in September and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. ACC.
I really like North Carolina's team this season, as it's very balanced and has a relibale QB. I look for the Tar Heels to make a strong early statement by winning this game outright.
