CFB | Northern Illinois Huskies (2-1) at Boston College Eagles (2-1)

The Northern Illinois Huskies look to crack the Boston College Eagles defense when they visit Alumni Stadium.

I don’t know what we have in the Northern Illinois Huskies after they fell to Ohio State 20-13 on the road. Many say the Buckeyes just didn’t play well but few have said what NIU did. OSU did have a 298-190 edge in yardage but also threw three interceptions so the Huskies played well defensively but their own two INT’s including a pick six might have NIU the upset. The bottom line was the Huskies were not going to win on the passing of Drew Hare who hit on 14-31 for 80 yards and a pair of picks with 23 yards on the ground on 13 carries. Joel Bouagnon was the best offensive threat for Northern Illinois with 78 yards on 21 totes but even though OSU struggled to move the ball their defense was airtight.

The Boston College Eagles have already established themselves as a defense first squad and then showed the world why in a 14-0 loss to visiting Florida State in week three. Of course the offense had obvious problems with just 195 yards while having a fumble returned for a touchdown which essentially ended all hopes of pulling the upset. The BC defense did their part with the Seminoles held to 217 yards but when the Eagles turned the ball over twice with minimum success moving the chains the outcome was expected. BC received 47 passing yards from Darius Wade on 4-12 with an interception while adding 38 rushing yards on ten totes. Myles Willis was the best Eagles threat as he ran for 40 yards on eight touches.

The under is 5-0 in Huskies last 5 road games and  is 4-0 in Huskies last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record while Northern Illinois  are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games on fieldturf. The under is 5-0 in Eagles last 5 vs. MAC and the Eagles are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record while the under is 4-0 in Eagles last 4 games following a S.U. loss. I lean to Boston College but perhaps the under with the defense that we’ll see…

under 47.5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
