CFB | Toledo Rockets (6-3) at Northern Illinois Huskies (7-2)

First in the MAC West is up for grabs when the Toledo Rockets pay a visit to the Northern Illinois Huskies.

The Toledo Rockets put their perfect conference record on the line when they go on the road to face their main challenger in Northern Illinois. The Rockets have won five of six and consecutive contests after knocking off a stubborn Kent State 30-20 in week eleven. The Rockets led 16-0 at the half on the way to 422 yards and were never challenged but were kicking too many field goals early on. The defense held the Golden Flashes to 334 yards and forced three turnovers and allowed less then 23 minutes of possession. Logan Woodside was efficient through the air going 16-26 for 202 yards and three touchdowns while Kareem Hunt ran for 141 yards with Terry Swanson added annother 75 yards.

The Northern Illinois Huskies were deemed to be a prime upset candidate when they went on the road to Ball State in week eleven. The Huskies proved to be up to the task as they ground out a 35-21 victory over the Cardinals with a 21-7 second half run breaking a 14-14 tie. NIU was dominant defensively with 307 yards allowed with a pair of fumble recoveries and a trio of interceptions while their own offense mustered 385 yards and almost 36 minutes of possession. QB Drew Hare connected on 16-27 for 126 yards with Cameron Stingily leading the rushing attack with 148 yards on 26 carries including three short touchdown runs. Northern Illinois didn't pile up the yards but were aided by Ball State mistakes.

The Rockets are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game while going 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games. For Northern Illinois Huskies are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 conference games and are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games while going 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Head to head the under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings in Northern Illinois and the Rockets are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Northern Illinois. No line out yet with Toledo having injuries at quarterback so please check back when it's released...

Northern Illinois Huskies team total under 33 // update-Toledo won't have Woodside or Hunt so I prefer NIU -4.5 but likely no play // over 60 has a shot

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
