The Line: Ohio Bobcats +2.5 -- Over/Under:
The Northern Illinois Huskies stay in line for the MAC title with a road win over the Ohio Bobcats.
The Northern Illinois Huskies are in a three way tie for first in the MAC West and need the final two games on their schedule to stay there. The Huskies improved to 5-1 via a 27-24 victory over previously unbeaten Toledo in week 12. The Huskies never trailed but couldn't put away the visiting Rockets who won the yardage battle 472-416 with both teams doing most of their damage on the ground. Quarterback Drew Hare completed 14-22 for 190 yards with a 64 yard touchdown to Da'Ron Brown while rushing for 66 yards for 66 yards on 16 totes. Cameron Stingily paced Northern Illinois on the ground with 81 yards on 21 touches with a pair of short scoring runs.
With a huge anount of talent graduating the Ohio Bobcats were penciled in as a rebuilding squad in 2014 but at 5-5 with two games remaining the team has a shot of the postseason. The Bobcats are looking for consecutive victories after dominating visiting Buffalo 37-14 as they took a 17-0 lead in to the half and never looked back. Ohio dominated total yardage 389-134 and held a 4-2 turnover advantage with the key being Joe Licata throwing for just 74 yards for the pass heavy Bulls. Derrius Vick threw for 118 yards on 7-18 and ran for 44 yards and a score but the offensive star was AJ Ouellette who ran for a game high 155 yards on 29 touches with scoring runs of one and two yards. Ohio made one glaring mistakee although it didn't matter when Buffalo returned s fumble 75 yards for a TD.
The under is 4-0 in Huskies last 4 games following a S.U. win and is 4-0 in Huskies last 4 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game while the under is 4-0 in Huskies last 4 games in November. For Ohio the under is 4-0 in Bobcats last 4 home games and is 4-0 in Bobcats last 4 games following a bye week while the Bobcats are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Tuesday games. Head to head the Huskies are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings. Ohio has fared well in this match up but I think Northern Illinois has the advantage here...
