The Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs and Ohio Bobcats clash Saturday afternoon at Peden Stadium on ESPN3.

The Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs take the road for the third time and hope to get back to a .500 record. Tyrell Maxwell is completing 51.6 percent of his passes for 322 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Maxwell must be more of a difference maker for the Bulldogs to hang around. Mike Estes and Adonus Lee have combined for 181 receiving yards on 14 catches while Khalil Lewis has four receptions. The Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs ground game is averaging 272.3 yards per contest, and Lewis leads the way with 327 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Gardner–Webb is allowing 27 points and 464 yards per game. Chad Geter leads the Runnin' Bulldogs with 32 tackles, Josh Ramseur has one tackle for loss and Aaron Cook has one interception.

The Ohio Bobcats need a bounce back performance in order to get back to a .500 record. Greg Windham is completing 54.7 percent of his passes for 790 yards, six touchdowns and one interception. Windham has seven touchdown passes on his last 168 pass attempts. Sebastian Smith and Jordan Reid have combined for 370 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Papi White has 11 receptions. The Ohio Bobcats ground game is averaging 218 yards per contest, and Windham leads the way with 222 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Ohio is allowing 35 points and 394 yards per game. Quentin Poling leads the Bobcats with 30 tackles, Tarell Basham has three sacks and Kylan Nelson has two interceptions.

Ohio isn't that bad of a football team and just hung around with Tennessee last week on the road, which should inspire confidence. Meanwhile, Gardner–Webb hasn't looked that great, especially defensively where its allowed a combined 75 points in its last two games. The Runnin' Bulldogs have now lost six of their last nine games overall and have struggled big time in a lot of those contests.

This is a game where the Bobcats should be able to run away with it early.
