The McNeese State Cowboys and the Oklahoma State Cowboys will meet up in Week 2 college football activity on Saturday.
McNeese enters this one with an early 1-0 record after an opening-week win over the Southern Jaguars. The Cowboys were up 17-14 at halftime in that one and fought off a late rally to take the win.
McNeese’s Cody Orgeron logged 147 yards with two touchdowns in the Week 1 win, and Elijah Mack posted 45 yards with one TD. Cyron Sutton was the leading receiver for the Cowboys on 51 yards from three grabs.
Over on the Oklahoma State side, they bagged a win in their Week 1 game as well. The Cowboys took out Oregon State 52-36, and scored in every quarter (24 in the second alone).
OK State’s Spencer Sanders posted a nice line on 203 yards with three touchdowns. Chuba Hubbard went off for 221 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, while Tylan Wallace had 92 yards and two TDs receiving.
Oklahoma State is 5-0 ATS in their last five home games versus a team with a winning road record and 0-4 ATS in their last four after a straight-up win. The over is 6-0 in OK State’s last six after posting more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
The over is 4-1 in McNeese’s last five games after putting up less than 170 yards passing in their previous game as well.
McNeese came out pretty strong in their Week 1 game, and posted a pretty solid all-around rush game between a quartet of players. That said, they’ll have a tough time keeping up here, as I expect a lot of offensive fireworks from Oklahoma State.
I really don’t see McNeese getting anywhere close in this one, so I’m sticking with OK State—they simply have too many weapons.
