CFB | Texas Longhorns (2-1) at Oklahoma State Cowboys (2-2)

The Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma State Cowboys meet Saturday afternoon in a Big 12 showdown at Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Texas Longhorns could use a bounce back performance after getting upset two weeks ago against Cal on the road. Shane Buechele is completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 720 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions. Buechele has moved the chains 29 times through the air this season. John Burt and Jacorey Warrick have combined for 347 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Jerrod Heard has 10 receptions. The Texas Longhorns ground game is averaging 238.3 yards per contest, and D’Onta Foreman leads the way with 288 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Texas is allowing 34.7 points and 386.3 yards per game. Anthony Wheeler leads the Longhorns with 22 tackles, Kevin Vaccaro has two sacks and Sheroid Evans has three pass deflections.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys need a big home win here in order to get a game above a .500 record. Mason Rudolph is completing 61.6 percent of his passes for 1,296 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. Rudolph has two or more touchdown passes in four of his last seven games. James Washington and Jhajuan Seales have combined for 732 receiving yards and five touchdowns while Jalen McCleskey has 23 receptions. The Oklahoma State Cowboys ground game is averaging 126.7 yards per contest, and Justice Hill leads the way with 211 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Oklahoma State is allowing 27.5 points and 417.8 yards per game. Jordan Burton leads the Cowboys with 29 tackles, Jarrell Owens has two sacks and Ramon Richards has two interceptions.

The Longhorns are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. The Cowboys are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 conference games and 24-9-1 ATS in their last 34 games in October. The Longhorns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings in Oklahoma State.

I'm not really concerned with Texas having two weeks to prepare, as the Longhorns haven't done much since their opening win over Notre Dame and have still lost five of their last six road games. In the loss to Cal, Texas allowed nearly 400 passing yards. I can only imagine what this OK State offense is going to do with playmakers and a better quarterback leading the way. The Longhorns have to prove they can play consistent ball and win on the road. Until then, you have to fade this team.

The Cowboys roll here.
