The Kansas Jayhawks have lost six of their last seven games but have confidence after taking TCU down to the wire last week. Kansas keeps things close with a defense that’s allowing 30.4. points, 438.4 yards, and has forced 19 turnovers and 19 sacks. The Kansas Jayhawks have won four of their last six games when allowing 30 or less points. Ben Heeney leads Kansas with 112 tackles and Michael Reynolds has 13.5 tackles for loss. Offensively, Michael Cummings is completing 57.9 percent of his passes for seven touchdowns and three interceptions. The Oklahoma Sooners have split their last four games and have lost their last two at home. Trevor Knight is expected to miss this game with an injury, which makes freshman Cody Thomas the starter. Thomas is completing 47.2 percent of his passes for one touchdown and four interceptions. Leading receiver Sterling Shepard is questionable, which puts pressure on Durron Neal and K.J. Young, a duo that has produced more than 700 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Oklahoma’s rushing attack is averaging 5.9 yards per carry, as Samaje Perine and Alex Ross have produced more than 1,500 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. OU is 19-1 SU in its last 20 games when rushing for at least two scores. Defensively, the Oklahoma Sooners are allowing 25.2 points, 409.9 yards, and they’ve forced 25 sacks and 16 turnovers. Dominique Alexander leads Oklahoma with 86 tackles and Eric Striker has 11.5 tackles for loss.
The Jayhawks are 7-21-1 ATS in their last 29 road games and 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games following a ATS win. The Sooners are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Oklahoma.
I really don't like this game due to the injuries and the insane chalk. However, if forced to pick, I'm taking Kansas and the points. The Jayhawks have played well the last couple of weeks and should be able to cover if they bring that same energy.
