The Line: Oregon Ducks -32.5 -- Over/Under: 72.5
The Oregon Ducks and the Colorado Buffaloes face off on Saturday in Autzen Stadium in a Pac-12 college football matchup.
The Oregon Ducks have overcome their loss earlier this season and once again control their own destiny and if they can win out they will be part of the college football playoff. Oregon’s offense is averaging 46 points and 531.2 yards per game outscoring their opponents by an average of three touchdowns. Marcus Mariota is putting up Heisman numbers completing 67.1 percent of his passes with 29 touchdowns and two interceptions and he has rushed for 524 yards and eight touchdowns. Royce Freeman is having a monster year leading Oregon in rushing with 945 yards and 14 touchdowns and Byron Marshall has 46 receptions and four touchdowns. The Oregon defense allows 25 points and 456.7 yards per game creating 22 turnovers and sacking opposing QB’s 26 times. Erick Dargan has 70 tackles, Joe Walker has 64 tackles, and Derrick Malone has 62 tackles. Oregon appears to easily be one of the top four teams in the nation.
The Colorado Buffaloes are coming off of a bye but they have lost their last six games. Colorado is averaging 461.1 yards and 29.8 points per game as they have been outscored by an average of nine points per game. QB Sefo Liufau has completed 65.8 percent of his passes with 26 touchdowns but he has been intercepted 14 times. Michael Adkins III is Colorado’s leading rusher with 398 yards and nelson Spruce has been a standout receiver catching 99 passes and scoring 11 touchdowns. The Colorado defense allows 449.6 yards and 38.6 points per game while forcing 11 turnovers. Kenneth Olugbode has 67 tackles, Chidobe Awuzie has 57 tackles, and Derek McCartney has four sacks. Colorado is improving but they aren’t quite at the point where they can beat the better teams.
Oregon is 5-0 against the spread in their last five Pac-12 games, 4-0 against the spread following a win, and 26-10-2 against the spread against a team with a losing record. Colorado is 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 Pac-12 games, 6-15 against the spread in their last 21 road games against a team with a winning home record, and 5-15 against the spread after rushing for less than 100 yards in their previous game.
There is a big number on this one and I can see the Ducks covering it so that is my free pick.
