The Oregon Ducks and Florida State Seminoles play Thursday night in the Rose Bowl for a spot in the national championship.

The Oregon Ducks have won eight straight games and play in their 10th straight bowl. Marcus Mariota is completing 68.3 percent of his passes for 38 touchdowns and two interceptions. Mariota has 11 total touchdowns and zero picks in his last two games, and Oregon has 46 passing plays of 25 or more yards. Byron Marshall and Devon Allen have combined for nearly 1,500 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns while Darren Carrington has eight receptions in his last two games. Oregon’s ground game is averaging 5.5 yards per carry, as Royce Freeman leads the way with 1,299 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. Defensively, the Oregon Ducks are allowing 22.5 points, 413.8 yards, and they’ve forced 34 sacks and 25 turnovers. Erick Dargan leads Oregon with 82 tackles and DeForest Buckner has 12 tackles for loss.

The Florida State Seminoles remain unbeaten and are playing in their 33rd straight bowl. Jameis Winston is completing 65.4 percent of his passes for 24 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. Winston has five touchdowns and four picks in his last two games, and Florida State has 31 passing plays of 25 or more yards. Rashad Greene and Nick O'Leary have combined for more than 1,900 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns while Travis Rudolph has six receptions in his last two games. Florida State’s ground game is averaging 4.3 yards per carry, as Dalvin Cook leads the way with 905 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. Defensively, the Florida State Seminoles are allowing 23 points, 378.3 yards, and they’ve forced 17 sacks and 24 turnovers. Reggie Northrup leads FSU with 113 tackles and Jalen Ramsey has 9.5 tackles for loss.

The Seminoles are 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10 bowl games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Ducks are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games and 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

Winston has yet to lose a college game and now his team is nearly a double-digit underdog? Um.. I'm not understanding this. Sure, I've been calling FSU overrated all season and believe they could easily have lost three or four games. However, the Noles continue to find ways to win and seem to thrive the bigger the moment. I’m not sure how anyone could pass up the points here and even consider sprinkling something on the ML. There’s so much value in this line it’s unfair.

Pick:
Florida State +9
