The Ohio State Buckeyes look to stay perfect when the Penn State Nittany Lions come to town.
After dropping the season opener at Temple the Penn State Nittany Lions have reeled off five straight victories following a 29-7 win versus Indiana. Defense has been Penn State’s calling card and that was the case in week six with the Hoosiers held to 234 yards and 14 first downs. PSU totaled 420 yards with most coming through the air. Nick Scott and Mark Allen were Penn State’s rushing attack with a combined 102 yards on 18 carries. Christian Hackenberg was the focus of the Nittany Lions by completing 21-39 for 262 yards with a pair of touchdowns with DaeSean Hamilton and Brandon Polk catch two balls for 95 yards and a score each.
The Ohio State Buckeyes aren’t destroying the opposition but they are beating them as they are 6-0 after knocking off Maryland 49-28 in week six as a 31 point favorite. OSU led 499-386 in yardage and intercepted a pair of throws. The Buckeyes did everything well on offense with Ezekiel Elliott pacing the running game with 21 carries for 106 yards and a pair of TD’s while JT Barrett added 62 yards and three scores on 12 touches. Quarterback Cardale Jones gave the Buckeyes productive and mistake free passing on 21-28 for 291 yards with a pair of touchdowns with Michael Thomas leading the receivers with seven catches for 107 yards.
