CFB | Bowling Green Falcons (1-2) at Purdue Boilermakers (1-2)

The Bowling Green Falcons and Purdue Boilermakers meet Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium.

The Bowling Green Falcons need a victory here to get to a .500 record. Matt Johnson is completing 61.5 percent of his passes for 1,358 yards, 12 touchdowns and one interception. Johnson leads the country in touchdown passes. Roger Lewis and Ronnie Moore have combined for more than 740 receiving yards and five touchdowns while Ryan Burbrink has 16 receptions. The Bowling Green Falcons ground game is averaging 153.6 yards per contest, and Fred Coppet leads the way with 202 yards on 32 carries. Defensively, Bowling Green is allowing 43.3 points and 495.3 yards per game. Austin Valdez leads the Falcons with 38 tackles, Izaah Lunsford has a sack and Dernard Turner has two interceptions. Darrell Hunter II is questionable.

The Purdue Boilermakers look for a bounce back win after getting beat up by Virginia Tech. Austin Appleby is completing 54.5 percent of his passes for 669 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions. Appleby has thrown nine picks in his last four games. DeAngelo Yancey and Cameron Posey have combined for more than 280 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Danny Anthrop has 11 receptions. The Purdue Boilermakers ground game is averaging 193 yards per contest, and Markell Jones leads the way with 229 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Purdue is allowing 35.3 points and 407.3 yards per game. Ja'Whaun Bentley leads the Boilermakers with 26 tackles, Antoine Miles has four sacks and Robert Gregory has an interception. David Rose, Evyn Cooper and J.J. Prince are questionable.

The Falcons are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. The Boilermakers are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss and 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

The Boilermakers actually opened up as a slight favorite in this game. This is a tough game to pick considering neither team plays much defense. Although Bowling Green does have a road win over Maryland, I do feel like Purdue is the better team here. I'm picking the Boilermakers to get their second victory.
