|Date & Time||Saturday September 10, 2016, 12:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Rutgers Scarlet Knights -43.5 -- Over/Under: 62.5
The Howard Bison and Rutgers Scarlet Knights meet Saturday at High Point Solutions Stadium.
The Howard Bison look for a bounce back performance after getting beat down by the Maryland Terrapins. Jason Collins is completing 57 percent of his passes for 100 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. Collins and Johnson must be more of a difference maker in order for Howard to have a chance here. Kyle Anthony and Guy Lemonier have combined for 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Jaquez Ezzard has one reception. The Howard Bison ground game is averaging 69 yards per contest, and Anthony Philyaw leads the way with 53 yards on 18 carries. Defensively, Howard is allowing 52 points and 519 yards per game. Craig Johnson leads the Bison with 10 tackles, Gafona Iduwe has one sack and Devin Rollins has one pass deflection.
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights also look to get back on track after getting beat up by the Washington Huskies. Chris Laviano is completing 60 percent of his passes for 168 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception. Laviano has four touchdown passes in his last two games. Janarion Grant and Justin Goodwin have combined for 102 receiving yards on 14 catches while Nick Arcidiacono has four receptions. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights ground game is averaging 136 yards per contest, and Josh Hicks leads the way with 70 yards on 14 carries. Defensively, Rutgers is allowing 48 points and 380 yards per game. Kiy Hester leads the Scarlet Knights with eight tackles, Andre Hunt has one sack and Anthony Cioffi has one interception.
I'm scared to death laying such a big number with Rutgers, a team that's not great and struggles to win games overall let alone by style points. However, Bison is downright awful, winning just one contest in its last 12 tries. The Bison have been blown out left and right, including a score of 76-0 to Boston College.
Rutgers should be able to stomp Howard at home.
