Utah State Aggies (4-2) at San Diego State Aztecs (4-3)
|Date & Time||Friday October 23, 2015, 10:30 PM (EDT)|
The Line: San Diego State Aztecs +4.5 -- Over/Under: 46
The Utah State Aggies travel to Qualcomm Stadium to oppose the San Diego State Aztecs Saturday.
Defeating Boise State is generally a surprise but the Utah State Aggies toyed with the Broncos in a 52-26 rout. The Aggies improved to 4-2 with their third consecutive victory as they led 45 10 at the half and coasted the rest of the way. The yardage was dead even but Boise gave this one away with five lost fumbles and three interceptions including a pick six. Quarterback Kent Myers threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns on 17-24 with 63 rushing yards and another score on 14 carries with Devante Mays giving USU 63 more yards and a score on the ground. Hunter Sharp was tops among the Aggies receivers with seven catches for 42 yards and a pair of TD’s.
The San Diego State know it’s never too early to be thinking postseason and a 30-7 win at San Jose State upped their record to 4-3. The Aztecs certainly put up plenty of points on 377 yards but the key was a stifling defense that allowed a mere 148 yards and intercepted a pair of throws. Quarterback Maxwell Smith gave SDSU efficiency through the air with 144 yards and a touchdown on 10-14 with Donnel Pumphrey snagging a 38 yard scoring strike while Pumphrey ran for 152 yards and a touchdown 20 touches. Chase Price added another 47 yards on ten carries and a score which was overkill will the defense being dominant.
The over is 4-0 in Aggies last 4 games in October and is 4-0 in Aggies last 4 games overall while going 5-0 in Aggies last 5 conference games. The Aztecs are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games in October and the under is 7-0 in Aztecs last 7 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game while going 7-0 in Aztecs last 7 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. I give a slight nod to Utah State versus a team that can cause problems…
