The Line: San Jose State Spartans +10 -- Over/Under: 60
The Boise State Broncos travel to Spartan Stadium to oppose the San Jose State Spartans.
Before the season began the Boise State Broncos were the 900 pound gorilla in the MWC. The Broncos have looked vulnerable at times and have lost consecutive games to fall to 7-4 after losing 37-30 to Air Force. The Falcons built a 34-13 lead before a late Broncos comeback fell short as they totaled over 600 yards and gave the ball away four times while the Broncos were held to 378 yards. Brett Rypien gave the Broncos a decent effort under center with 237 passing yard and a touchdown on 23-48 with Thomas Sperbeck catching seven throws for 79 yards and a score. Jeremy McNichols gave Boise State a great threat on the ground with 151 yards and a TD on 20 carries.
The San Jose State Spartans can become Bowl eligible with a win versus Boise State that would even their record at 6-6. The Spartans snapped a two game skid with a 42-23 win at Hawaii that wasn’t as close as the score indicates. The Spartans led 35-0 at the half before taking their foot off the gas which means most of their 500+ yards came in the first half and most of the Warriors 415 yards came in the second half. Quarterback Kenny Potter gave SJSU 312 passing yards and three touchdowns on 23-32 with four players totaling over 60 yards in receptions. The Spartans were equally effective on the ground with Tyler Ervin rambling for 114 yards and a score on 20 totes with Potter adding 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The over is 5-1 in Broncos last 6 games in November and the Broncos are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 conference games while going 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games on fieldturf. The under is 4-0 in Spartans last 4 games following a S.U. win and the over is 6-0 in Spartans last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record while the Spartans are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game. The Broncos are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings and the favorite is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings while the under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.
