NC State will look to continue their winning ways as they go on the road to take on South Alabama.
South Alabama improved their record to 2-1 after beating San Diego St 34-27 in overtime. Quarterback Cody Clements was 18/35 for 270 yards and 2 touchdowns. Running back Xavier Johnson had a big day on the ground carrying the all 19 times for 142 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wide Receiver Gerald Everett caught 8 passes for 164 yards and 1 touchdown. South Alabama lost big last time they played a big opponent in Nebraska. Now South Alabama will host North Carolina State.
North Carolina State is 3-0 but has not played any big time opponents yet. NC States last win came against Old Dominion 38-14. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett went 18/27 for 179 yards and 1 touchdown. Running back Matthew Dayes carried the ball 20 times for 108 yards and 1 touchdown. Shadrach Thornton had 18 carries for 92 yards and 1 touchdown. Jaylen Samuels caught 5 passes for 43 yards and 1 touchdown. NC State hasn’t been tested by a real opponent yet and it doesn’t look like this will be the week they do either.
