Sun Belt college football action features the Texas State Bobcats taking the field at the South Alabama Jaguars.
The Texas State Bobcats bounced back from a sluggish performance at Rutgers to down Texas Southern 36-20 as a 33 point home favorite. Texas State amassed 547 yards and allowed 351 yards while returning a fumble for a TD.
Texas State saw dual threat quarterback Willie Jones III connect on 17-28 for 235 yards and a touchdown while running for 107 yards on 18 totes.
Robert Brown Jr. and Anthony Taylor gave the Bobcats a combined 149 rushing yards on 26 carries with Taylor finding the end zone while Keenen Brown caught seven passes for 108 yards and a 46 yard TD.
The South Alabama Jaguars found the going too tough in a 55-13 defeat at Oklahoma State in week two to fall to 0-2. South Alabama was outgained 617-214 with the Cowboys throwing for 453 yards.
Jaguars quarterback Evan Orth hit on 14-25 for 119 yards and a touchdown with an interception. Jamarius Way topped USA with five receptions for 48 yards with Kawaan Baker grabbing a 24 yard TD while Baker led the rushing attack with a seven carry, 40 yard effort and a TD.
