Syracuse will look to bounce back and get a win on the road against South Florida.
South Florida lost to Memphis last weekend 24-17 and now have lost 3 games in a row. Quarterback Quinton Flowers went 17/26 for 199 yards and 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Running back Marlon Mack carried the ball 20 times for 107 yards. Darius Tice also added 12 carries for 36 yards and a touchdown. Wide Receiver Sean Price led the Bulls with 2 catches for 66 yards. The USF defense allowed over 400 yards of total offense. They were unable to stop Memphis and will have to find a way to stop Syracuse this week.
Syracuse barely lost last Saturday in an attempt to upset LSU but fell short 34-24. Quarterback Zack Mahoney went 16/38 for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception. Mahoney also added 40 yards on the ground. Running back George Morris carried the ball 7 times for 35 yards. Wide Receiver Brisly Estime led the Orange with 2 catches for 50 yards and 1 touchdown. Syracuse’s defense failed to get a turnover and let up over 400 total yards. Syracuse will have to fix their defense if they want to beat South Florida this week.
Syracuse are 7-1 against the spread in their last 8 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing their previous game. Syracuse is 0-4 against the spread in their last 4 games following a straight up loss. South Florida is 0-4-1 against the spread in their last 5 games following a straight up loss. South Florida is 0-4-1 against the spread in their last 5 homes games vs. a team with a winning road record.
Syracuse will travel down to Tampa to take on South Florida in which will be an interesting game. I would stay away from this game because i can see it going either way. Since i have to pick someone i will take South Florida at home to cover the spread.
