The Clemson Tigers and the Syracuse Orange will match up in college football action on Saturday.
Clemson has posted a couple wins on the young season, taking out Georgia Tech 52-14 in the opener and following that up with a 24-10 win over Texas A&M this past weekend.
In the Week 2 win, Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence posted 268 yards, one TD and one INT while Lyn-J Dixon had 79 yards and a score rushing. Tops in receiving for the Tigers was Justyn Ross with 94 yards and a TD on seven grabs.
Over on the Syracuse side, they’re 1-1 this year following an opening 24-0 win over Liberty and a 63-20 drubbing at the hands of Maryland in Week 2.
In the loss, Syracuse QB Tommy Devito put up 330 yards and a pick while Moe Neal led the rushers with 47 yards. Trishton Jackson was the top receiver for the Orange on 157 yards and two scores off seven catches.
The Tigers are 6-0 ATS in their last six road games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight conference games. Clemson is 4-1 ATS in the last five overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six in September.
Meanwhile, the Orange are 4-0 ATS in the last four conference games and 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight in September. Syracuse is 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall.
The 24-10 score against Texas A&M is a little misleading, as Clemson was in control after a 17-point second quarter. That makes a couple of good statement wins for the Tigers coming into the season.
Syracuse won’t pose much of a threat in this one, but the spread is so thick that I think they can get in there. I’ll go Orange.
