The SMU Mustangs and the TCU Horned Frogs will meet up on the college football circuit Saturday.

The Mustangs are sitting at 3-0 on the young season. SMU has so far taken out Arkansas State 37-30, North Texas 49-27 and Texas State 47-17.

In the win over the Bobcats, Mustangs QB Shane Buechele had 219 yards, two TDs and two picks, but TJ McDaniel and Xavier Jones did most of the work. The two RBs logged a combined 267 yards and four scores.

Over on the TCU side, they’re 2-0 this year. The Horned Frogs started things out with a win over AR-Pine Bluff 39-7 and followed that up with a 34-13 win over Purdue this past weekend.

In the victory over the Boilermakers, TCU QB Max Duggan had 70 yards and a TD, while Darius Anderson and Sewo Olonilua combined for 285 rush yards and three touchdowns.

The Mustangs are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win and 4-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games. SMU is 4-1 ATS in their last five in September and 7-17-1 ATS in their last 25 versus the Big 12.

Meanwhile, the Frogs are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games. TCU is 4-9 ATS in their last 13 after an ATS win and 3-8 ATS versus a team with a winning record.

SMU has had a pretty well-balanced offensive attack so far this year, and the rush/pass have been able to complement each other nicely. The Mustangs will have their hands full with TCU however, as the Frogs have given up an average of just 10.0 points in their two games.

Still, I feel like the Mustangs are strong enough that they can get in there and cover.

Pick:
SMU Mustangs +10
