Cincinnati Bearcats (7-3) at Temple Owls (5-5)

The Line: Temple Owls +3.5 -- Over/Under:
The Lincoln Financial Center and the Temple Owls play host to the Cincinnati Bearcats in week 14.
The biggest positive change I see in the Cincinnati Bearcats is they have been playing great defense to go with their high scoring offense. The defense played their best defense of the season in a 41-0 victory at Connecticut for victory number five in a row to improve to 7-3. The Huskies were held to 129 yards and ten first downs with two lost fumbles and an interception. The Bearcats piled up 425 yards that was run heavy and took advantage of field position and mistakes. Rod Moore paced a very good ground attack with 108 yards on 21 touches with a score while Bobby Brown and Mike Boone combined for 119 yards on nine carries. Gunner Kiel wasn't as explosive as we have seen but he was effective with 161 yards and three touchdowns with a pick.
The Temple Owls control their postseason fate with wins in their final two contests sending them to a Bowl. Of course the Owls have to bounce back from consecutive defeats following a 30-13 loss at Penn State. Points don't always come easy for this squad and with 266 yards versus the Nittany Lions including five turnovers that trend continued. Penn State was held to 366 yards but took advantage of miscues to come away with plenty of scoring. The Owls have struggled to run the ball and did so here with 61 yards and a three yard average. PJ Walker had a lot of problems when putting the ball in the air on a 17-38 performance for 187 yards with a 75 yard touchdown to Jalen Fitzpatrick but four interceptions including a 30 yard pick six set the tone.
The under is 4-0 in Bearcats last 4 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game while the Bearcats are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games in November. For Temple the Owls are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record while going 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game with the over going 4-1 in Owls last 5 games following a S.U. loss. Head to head the road team is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings. The way Cincinnati is playing on both sides of the ball I feel they are the right choice and worth a look at the small chalk...
