|Date & Time||Saturday November 21, 2015, 3:30 PM (EST)|
The Line: Texas El Paso Miners +21.5 -- Over/Under:
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs visit Sun Bowl Stadium to take the field with the Texas El Paso Miners.
The surging Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have been putting things together on both sides of the ball as winners in six of seven following a 56-13 rout of visiting North Texas. This was 28-0 at the half and was never in doubt with the Bulldogs doing their damage on 573 yards despite three turnovers. The Mean Green were held to 316 yards and gave the ball away four times with La Tech doing whatever they chose whenever they chose. Quarterback Jeff Driskel threw for 296 yards and an interception with Carlos Henderson catching five balls for 162 yards. Kenneth Dixon paced Louisiana Tech on the ground with 195 yards and six touchdowns.
The Texas El Paso Miners have had their share of struggles but they have also been competitive at times. The Miners are coming off of a 31-21 defeat at Old Dominion in week eleven. Six second half points did UTEP in as they were outgained 441-305 which made a pair of turnovers hurt even more. Mack Leftwich and his passing was the focus of the Texas El Paso attack with 193 yards and three touchdowns and a pair of picks with Warren Redix logging four receptions for 75 yards while Jaquan White caught both scoring tosses. Darrin Laufasa and Treyvon Hughes combined for 82 rushing yards on 17 carries but the Miners didn’t run the ball often.
The Bulldogs are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games on turf while going 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in November. The under is 4-0 in Miners last 4 conference games and is 6-0 in Miners last 6 home games while going 4-0 in Miners last 4 games in November. The over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings. Probably too many points to lay for me but if Louisiana Tech plays their game they can win big…
