Alex Lyons leads the Owls with seven tackles, Brian Womac has four tackles for loss and Zach Espinosa has an interception. Andrew Reue and Jowan Davis are questionable with injuries.

The Texas Longhorns look to bounce back after losing 38-3 to Notre Dame. Tyrone Swoopes is completing 31.8 percent of his passes for 93 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Swoopes has just one passing touchdown in his last three games. John Burt and Daje Johnson have combined for more than 90 receiving yards, while Andrew Beck has one reception. The Texas Longhorns ground game is averaging 60 yards per contest, and Johnathan Gray leads the way with 40 yards on eight carries. Defensively, Texas is allowing 38 points and 527 yards per game. Peter Jinkens leads the Longhorns with 10 tackles, Malik Jefferson has 2.5 tackles for loss and Kris Boyd has a forced fumble. Linebacker Dalton Santos is questionable.

The Owls are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 vs. Big 12. The Longhorns are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 vs. CUSA and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Owls are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings in Texas and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings overall.

Did anybody watch the Texas Longhorns last week? Oof. I'm not sure how anybody can eat this much chalk after watching Texas get its head bashed in. Rice has an experienced quarterback who can light it up at times. In fact, the Rice Owls have scored 30 or more points now in four straight games. Add the rivalry in the mix, and I see this game being closer than expected.

Rice Owls +15.5
