The Line: Toledo Rockets -- Over/Under:
The Bowling Green Falcons head to the Glass Bowl to take the field with the Toledo Rockets in week 13.
The Bowling Green Falcons have their sights set on the MAC East title and control their own fate. The Falcons improved to 5-1 in the division following a 30-20 decision over Kent State in which they led throughout although the Golden Flashes didn't go away. BGSU had advantages in most areas with a 527-328 yardage edge while winning the turnover battle 5-2. The balanced Falcons attack received 157 yards on the ground from Andre Givens with six yard and two yard scoring runs but the offense prospered more in the air. James Knapke completed 22-37 for 315 yards including an 82 yards touchdown strike to Roger Lewis with Lewis recording three catches for 116 yards with Ryan Burbank grabbing eight balls for 111 yards.
Toledo had a chance to take over the top spot in the MAC West but fell on the road to Northern Illinois by a 27-24 count in week 12. The Rockets were what I term just good enough to lose as they led 472-416 yardage edge butjust didn't make plays when the opportunity presented itself. It was no surprise the Rockets were more productive on the ground with Kareem Hunt rambling for 119 yards on 18 touches with Dwight Macon adding 97 yards on 18 carries with a pair of short scoring runs. Macon was efficient through the air with an 8-11 performance for 140 yards including a 69 yard touchdown throw to Corey Jonres. Having wached the game the Rockets had chances to score but failed to convert on too many short third down conversions.
The under is 4-0 in Falcons last 4 games following a S.U. win while the Falcons are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game and the under is 5-0 in Falcons last 5 games overall. For Toledo Under is 6-0 in Rockets last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and the Rockets are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss while the over is 6-1 in Rockets last 7 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game. Head to head the under is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings while the Falcons are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Toledo and the home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
