The Line: Troy Trojans +6 -- Over/Under:
The Georgia Southern Eagles take their option to Veterans Memorial Stadium to face the Troy Trojans.
After suffering their first Sun Belt loss in two seasons the Georgia Southern Eagles rebounded with a 37-13 victory against Texas State heading in to their bye week. A 23-0 second half run led the way to 534 yards while the Bobcats were held to 213 yards. As usual Eagles quarterback Kevin Ellison did not throw much with 23 yards on 2-5 with Ryan Longoria catching two balls for 21 yards but it didn’t matter with the rushing attack amassing over 500 yards. Matt Breida led GSU on the ground with 205 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 23 totes with Wesley Felds totaling 158 yards and a TD on just nine carries as the team averaged 7.5 yards per touch.
After destroying Louisiana-Monroe 51-14 in week ten Troy has won two of three with the lone loss coming to Appalachian State in overtime. A 48-14 lead heading to the locker room put this in the win column with Troy racking up nearly 500 yards while the Warhawks were held to 376 yards and gave the ball away five times including a pick six. Quarterback Brandon Silvers gave the Trojans 326 passing yards and four touchdowns on 23-33 with Brandon Burks leading eight receivers with three catches for 89 yards and a score. Burks also led the Troy rushing attack with 107 yards on 19 carries to help his team to a 3-6 record.
The under is 5-0 in Eagles last 5 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game and the Eagles are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game while going 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a SU win of more than 20 points. The Trojans are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a SU win of more than 20 points and the over is 4-0 in Trojans last 4 vs. a team with a winning record while the Trojans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game. Sometimes I have no clue what Troy is going to due and this might be one of those times…
