Tulane Green Wave (0-1) at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (1-0)
|Date & Time||Saturday September 12, 2015, 3:30 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets -29 -- Over/Under: 54.5
The Tulane Green Wave travel to Bobby Dodd Stadium to battle the option of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
The Tulane Green Wave never found their offense and the defense broke down late in a season opening 37-7 loss to visiting Duke. The Blue Devils rolled up 530 yards while the Green Wave were held to 271 yards and held the ball for 24 minutes. The Green Wave needed a viable rushing attack to burn some clock and keep the Blue Devils offense off the field but that didn’t happen with less then a two yard average. Tanner Lee gave Tulane 246 passing yards on 24-42 but 76 yards came on a scoring strike to Devon Breaux so the air attack was generally not stretching the field.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets opened the season with a stat building 69-6 rout of FCS Alcorn State. This was over in a heart beat with the Yellow Jackets storming to a 34-0 lead after a quarter on the way to 553 yards with 476 yards coming on the ground with an average of over nine yards per carry. Justin Thomas was 3-4 for 54 yards and a passing touchdown of 19 yards to Michael Summers but GT stuck to the ground for the most part. Marcus Marshall paced the Yellow Jackets on the ground with 184 yards on eight touches and a pair of scores while Patrick Skov added another 72 yards and three touchdowns. The Georgia Tech defense held the high scoring Braves to 276 yards and forced three turnovers.
The Green Wave are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a SU loss of more than 20 points while the under is 4-0 in Green Wave last 4 games following a SU loss of more than 20 points. The Yellow Jackets are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games on grass and are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games while going 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games overall. I think if these teams play as they did in their openers then I would favor the Yellow Jackets…
