The Line: UCLA Bruins -13 -- Over/Under: 61.5
The UCLA Bruins and the Utah Utes face off on Saturday in a Pac-12 college football matchup in the Rose Bowl.
The UCLA Bruins enter this week unbeaten and ranked number 8 in the AP Top 25 and are coming off of their most lopsided win of he year crushing Arizona State. The UCLA offense is averaging 38 points per game and QB Brett Hundley should be back at 100 percent and he has completed 72.1 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and an interception and he has rushed for 146 yards and another two touchdowns. Paul Perkins leads the UCLA ground attack averaging 5.7 yards per carry and Jordan Payton leads in receiving with 24 receptions and three touchdowns followed by Devin Fuller with 18 catches. Defensively UCLA allows 24.8 points per game with four interceptions, here fumble recoveries, and four sacks. Eric Kendricks leads the Bruins defense with 47 tackles, Myles Jack has 30 tackles, and Kenny Clark has 23 tackles. UCLA has their toughest part of their schedule ahead of them.
The Utah Utes started their 2014 season with three wins and appeared on their way to number four but they blew a 13-point fourth quarter lead against Washington State and took their first loss. The Utah offense is averaging 42 points per game and are led by Travis Wilson who as completed 58.3 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns without an interception. Devontae Booker leads the Utes ground attack averaging 6.5 yards per carry with three touchdowns and Bubba Poole is averaging 4.4 yards per carry. Kenneth Scott is Utah’s leading receiver with 21 catches and Dres Anderson has 13 catches and they each have three touchdowns. The Utah defense is allowing 19.8 points with five interceptions, thee fumble recoveries, and 18 sacks. Jared Norris has 35 tackles and 3.0 sacks, Nate Orchard has 23 tackles and 4.5 sacks, and Eric Rowe has 22 tackles. Utah will need to forget about last week and focus on UCLA or this can get ugly fast.
UCLA is 4-1 against the spread in their last five Pac-12 games, 5-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 6-2 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread. Utah is 3-10 against the spread in their last 13 Pac-12 games and 4-1 against the spread following a gam that they allowed less than 100 yards rushing.
The total is set at 60.5 but if this thing gets past the high 40’s I would be surprised so my free pick is going to be on the under. My stronger pick is on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
