The Tigers were able to get into the Houston backfield a handful of times as senior DE Bryce Huff contributed 2.5 TFL while junior LB Thomas Pickens pitched in 2 TFL and 2 sacks.
The South Florida Bulls come into this matchup with a 4-6 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent home game against the Cincinnati Bearcats, 20-17. Freshman QB Jordan McCloud had a solid game through the air as he connected on 18 of his 27 pass attempts for 267 yards and 1 TD. Senior RB Jordan Cronkrite was bottled up by the Cincinnati defense as he only compiled 78 yards on 20 carries.
The South Florida Bulls were solid on the defensive side of the ball against the Cincinnati Bearcats as they held them to 20 points and a total of 278 yards of offense. Sophomore LB Antonio Grier led the way for the South Florida defense with 10 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack, and 1 pass deflection. Sophomore DB Nick Roberts had a productive game from the secondary for the Bulls as he contributed 7 tackles, 2 TFL, and 2 pass deflections.
The South Florida Bulls have struggled a ton as of recent as they have dropped 3 of their last 4 games, and they will have their toughest task yet as Memphis is one of the best in the country. This game can very well turn into a shootout as Memphis has the 8th ranked scoring offense, but the question is can USF maintain pace as they rank 103rd in points scored. Memphis has the ability to run the ball or air it out, but the key to their success has been RB Kenneth Gainwell as he has compiled 1166 yards and 12 TDs this season. South Florida has a freshman QB under center, and the Memphis pass rush will be too much for him. Expect Memphis to win this game big as they are just too talented to drop a game like this.
