The Line: Utah State Aggies -24 -- Over/Under:
The Wyoming Cowboys will travel to play the Utah State Aggies in a Friday night Mountain West conference showdown.
The Utah State Aggies are coming off of a loss to San Diego State last week. This is coming a week after they dismantled Boise State, so it is tough to say which Utah State team will show up in this one. The Utah State offense is averaging 28.3 points per game with 338.1 yards per game. Quarterback Kent Myers leads the Utah State offense with 647 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Devante Mays leads the rushing attack for Utah State with 410 yards and 5 touchdowns. Hunter Sharp is the leading receiver for Utah State with 341 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Utah State defense is giving up 24.3 points per game with 321.3 yards per game. Utah State’s defense has 19 sacks, 10 fumble recoveries, and 8 interceptions. Utah State needs to get their defense back under control after giving up 48 points to San Diego State last week.
The Wyoming Cowboys are coming off of a loss to Boise State in their last game. The Wyoming offense is averaging 20.8 points per game with 375.9 yards per game. Quarterback Cameron Coffman leads the Wyoming offense with 1574 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. Coffman is doubtful for Wyoming this week and his backup is Nick Smith who has barely played all season. Brian Hill is the lead back for Wyoming with 1061 yards and 3 touchdowns. Tanner Gentry is the leading receiver for Wyoming with 678 yards and 4 touchdowns. Gentry is questionable this week for Wyoming, so the next leading receiver is Jake Maulhardt who has 442 yards and 5 touchdowns. The Wyoming defense is giving up 32.3 points per game with 404.8 yards per game. Wyoming’s defense has 5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, and 3 interceptions. This is a Wyoming team who only has 1 win this year and needs to improve in a lot of ways if they want to become competitive in the near future.
Wyoming is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. Wyoming is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games. The under is 4-0 in Wyoming’s last 4 games overall. Utah State is 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS loss. The over is 5-0 Utah State’s last 5 games overall.
With the injuries to Wyoming, they are going to have a hard time keeping up with Utah State in this one. Utah State is already the better team and should blow out Wyoming.
