The Line: Utah Utes -7 -- Over/Under:
The California Golden Bears travel to the Utah Utes for a Pac-12 top 25 showdown.
The Utah Utes are coming off of a bye week after they blew out Oregon on the road in their last game. The Utah offense is averaging 38.8 points per game with 393.5 yards per game. The Utah offense is led by quarterback Travis Wilson who has 513 yards with 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. The Utah running game is led by Devontae Booker who has 443 yards and 4 touchdowns. Booker has been Utah’s best offensive player and has really shown that he is one of the best players in the Pac-12. The Utah receivers are led by Britain Covey who has 182 yards and 2 touchdowns. Devontae Booker also plays a part in the Utah passing game with 149 receiving yards on 15 catches. The Utah defense has allowed 18.8 points per game with 373.3 yards per game. The Utah defense has 8 sacks, 4 fumble recoveries, and 7 interceptions. Utah has really surprised me this year and they look to continue to build their resume against California.
The California Golden Bears are coming off of a tight win against Washington State last week. The Cal offense is averaging 43.4 points per game with 542.5 yards per game. The Cal offense is led by quarterback Jared Goff who has 1,240 yards with 11 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. The Cal rushing attack is led by Khalfani Muhammad who has 309 yards with 1 touchdown. Vic Enwere also runs the ball for Cal with 209 yards and 5 touchdowns. The Cal receivers are led by Kenny Lawler who has 294 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Cal defense has given up 23.4 points per game with 382.8 yards per game. The Cal defense has 12 sacks, 5 fumble recoveries, and 9 interceptions. The Cal passing attack has been very good this year and they will need to be on their game to get past Utah.
Cal is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games. Cal is 8-17 ATS in their last 25 conference games. The under is 4-0 in Cal’s last 4 conference games. Utah is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games. The under is 5-1 in Utah’s last 6 home games. The home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
Utah is playing some of the best football in the country right now. Utah is one of the most balanced teams and will give Cal all they can handle in this one. While Cal’s offense has been good this year, I look to Utah’s defense to be the difference maker in this one and get Utah the win.
