The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners welcome the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs to the Alamodome Saturday.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have the look of a team that nobody wants to play. Louisiana-Lafayette was probably thinking that halfway through their 43-14 week five loss where they couldn’t get stops or move the chains. The Bulldogs were clicking on all cylinders with a 428-331 edge in yardage and 3-1 advantage in turnovers along with a pick six and blocked punt that resulted in a safety. La Tech received a big performance under center from Jeff Driskel who hit on 20-33 throws for 290 yards and a pair of touchdowns while running for 56 yards and a score on seven attempts. Kenneth Dixon logged 59 yards on 22 carries while Marcus Gaines was he Bulldogs top receiver with eight catches for 165 yards and a TD.
The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners are just 2-3 and probably were not expected to have even two wins at this point with their losses in talent. I have to say the Roadrunners aren’t nearly as bad as some say as they had no problem in dispatching Texas El Paso 25-6 in week five. Defense won this with UTSA holding a 335-275 yardage edge with their defense recording a pair of pick six’s and a safety while recovering a fumble and intercepting four passes. Blake Bogenschutz managed the Roadrunners passing attack with 198 yards on 19-30 with three players accounting for eleven receptions for 140 yards. Jarveon Williams led UTSA on the ground with 133 yards on 28 carries with a touchdown while Dalton Sturm ran for 59 yards on three tries.
The under is 3-0-1 in Bulldogs last 4 vs. a team with a losing record and the over is 5-1 in Bulldogs last 6 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game while the under is 4-1 in Bulldogs last 5 games following a ATS win. The under is 7-1 in Roadrunners last 8 games following a ATS win and is 7-1 in Roadrunners last 8 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game while going under is 6-1 in Roadrunners last 7 games following a S.U. win. I think the Roadrunners will have difficulty scoring and I lean under here…
