The Pittsburgh Panthers go on the road to Lane Stadium to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies

Virginia Tech’s 2 game win streak came to an end when they lost to East Carolina last weekend 35-28. Quarterback Brenden Motley went 20/35 for 281 yards and 1 touchdown with 1 interception. Motley also added 85 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown. Running back Travon McMillian couldn’t get anything going on the ground he had 5 carries for 30 yards. Isaiah Ford was the leading receiver catching 8 passes for 95 yards. Receiver Cam Phillips also caught 3 passes for 78 yards. Greg Stroman led the defense recording the only interception for the Hokies. Virginia Tech will try to get back on track when they host Pittsburgh this week.

The Pittsburgh Panthers are coming off a bye week where they have been preparing to take on ACC opponent Virginia Tech. Through 3 games this season Nathan Peterman has thrown for 428 yards and 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Running back Qadree Ollison leads the team with 305 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ollison is averaging over 7 yards a carry. Wide Receiver Tyler Boyd is having another outstanding year having caught 21 passes for 226 yards and 1 touchdown through 3 games. Kicker Chris Blewitt has converted 3 out of 5 field goal attempts so far this season with his longest being 48 yards. Pittsburgh will try to get their first ACC win this week when they travel to Virginia Tech.

The Pittsburgh Panthers are 1-4-1 against the spread in their last 6 games in October. The Over is also 7-0-1 in their last 8 games following an against the spread win. The Virginia Tech Hokies are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. The Over is 6-0 in Virginia Tech’s lsat 6 games overall.

I think that this game will be close and come down to the last possession. Brenden Motley has looked better each game he has played this year and i like the Virgina Tech defense at home. Pittsburgh will be prepared and keep this game close early on but i expect Virginia Tech to pull away. Take Virginia Tech to cover the spread at home.
