The Florida State Seminoles and the Virginia Cavaliers will meet on the college football gridiron Saturday.
Florida State enters this game at 1-1, following an opener loss to Boise State 36-31 and a big OT win over LA-Monroe 45-44 this past weekend.
In the victory, Florida State QB James Blackman posted 282 yards with three touchdowns and two picks. Cam Akers led the Seminoles rush on 193 yards and two scores, while Tamorrion Terry had 57 yards receiving.
Over on the Virginia side, they’re 2-0 this year so far after a 30-14 opener over Pittsburgh and a 52-17 win against William & Mary this past weekend.
In the victory Week 2, Virginia QB Bryce Perkins logged 192 yards, two touchdowns and two picks. Mike Hollins added 78 rush yards and two scores, and Joe Reed had 58 yards and a TD receiving.
The Seminoles are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 1-5 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Florida State is 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall and 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine games in September.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five on grass. Virginia is 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven conference games.
Florida State has given up a lot of points over the past couple of games, but the good news is that their offense has been keeping pace. Virginia represents some stout competition however, and they’ve looked really solid in their first couple.
I’m going to stick with the Cavaliers here in what should be a high-flying game.
