The Carrier Dome and the Syracuse Orange look for a 2-0 start when the Wake Forest Demon Deacons visit.
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons had zero problem in knocking off FCS Elon in a 41-3 rout in week one. The Phoenix had nothing going offensively with only 151 yards while the Demon Deacons piled up almost 600 yards and 29 first downs while holding the ball for nearly 39 minutes. Quarterback John Wolford gave Wake Forest a 70 yard scoring run but was unstoppable through the air with 323 yards on 20-27 with three touchdown throws of 10, 27 and 30 yards. Cam Serigne, Cortez Lewis and Chuck Wade each caught TD passes as Wake forest saw 13 players record receptions in a stat building affair.
The Syracuse Orange dominated Rhode Island from the coin flip to the opening gun in a 47-0 rout on opening day. The Rams were held to a mere 46 yards and had four turnovers and had the ball for less then 20 minutes in one of the biggest mismatches of the day. The Orange totaled 426 yards and received a Corey Winfield pick six, a 74 yard punt return from Brisly Estime while recording a safety. Cuse got 114 passing yards and a pair of scoring tosses from Eric Dungey with Ervin Phillips on the receiving end of nine yard and 32 yard touchdown receptions. Jordan Fredericks paced a solid Syracuse rushing attack with 103 yards and a trip to the end zone while Jacob Hill and George Morris II combined for 146 yards.
The Demon Deacons are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games on fieldturf and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games in September while the under is 4-0 in Demon Deacons last 4 games following a SU win of more than 20 points. The under is 3-0-1 in Orange last 4 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game and is 4-0-1 in Orange last 5 games following a ATS win while going 3-0-1 in Orange last 4 games following a S.U. win. With the Orange losing QB Terrel Hunt, capping this one is a bit difficult to cap so I’m inclined to just take the points…
