The Line: Wake Forest Demon Deacons +3.5 -- Over/Under:
The Boston College Eagles and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons will match up in a great ACC college football matchup on Thursday from BB&T Field.
Boston College sits at 2-0 on the year with a pair of big wins under their belt. The Eagles took out UMass 55-21 in the opener, then continued the onslaught with a 62-14 win over Holy Cross this past weekend.
Boston College QB Anthony Brown is sitting on 322 yards on 17-of-23 passing so far with four touchdowns to his credit. Eagles RB AJ Dillon is also off to a nice start on 26 carries for 247 yards and three touchdowns.
Over on the Wake Forest side, they’re also 2-0 on the young season. The Demon Deacons eked out a tense overtime win over Tulane in their first game, then rolled over Towson in Week 2 51-20.
So far this year, Wake Forest QB Sam Hartman has put up a 48-of-78 line for 620 yards, four touchdowns and three picks. Cade Carney leads the Deacons rush on 184 yards and two scores, while Greg Dortch has 243 yards and a TD from 19 catches.
The Eagles are 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven conference games and 4-0 ATS in their last four games in September. Boston College is 5-1-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 overall.
Meanwhile, the Deacons are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight home games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Thursday games. Wake Forest is 0-4 ATS in their last four overall and 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 conference games.
Boston College hasn’t really had much of a challenge yet this year, but they’ve performed as expected through the first two games. As for Wake, they came out of the gate a little slow but then got things going in game two. This should be a pretty interesting matchup if both teams play well, but I’m a little more confident in Boston College right now.
