Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

The Clemson Tigers will meet the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in college football action from BB&T Field on Saturday.

Clemson rolls into this game at a clean 5-0 on the year. So far, the Tigers have taken out Furman 48-7, Texas A&M 28-26, GA Southern 38-7, Georgia Tech 49-21 and just this past Saturday Syracuse 27-23.

In the Orange game, Clemson QBs Trevor Lawrence and Chase Brice put up 176 yards with a pick, but Travis Etienne owned the game on 203 rush yards with three touchdowns. Tee Higgins was the top receiver with 53 yards on four catches.

Over on the Wake Forest side, they’re currently 3-2 this season. The Deacons took out Tulane in the opener (OT) and Towson in Week 2 before falling to Boston College and Notre Dame. The Deacons got a big win over Rice 56-24 in their last appearance.

In the Rice game, Wake Forest QB Sam Hartman bagged 241 yards and four scores, most to Greg Dortch, who logged 163 yards and all four TDs on 11 grabs. Christian Beal-Smith put up 60 yards on nine carries to lead the Wake Forest rush.

The Tigers are 1-4 ATS in their last five following a straight-up win and 1-5 ATS in their last six overall. Clemson is 0-4 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five in October.

Meanwhile, the Deacons are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games. Wake Forest is 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall and 0-4 ATS versus a team with a winning record.

The proverbial elephant in the room here is Clemson’s muddy and banged-up quarterback situation, which is an obvious drag on their chances moving forward. Etienne is a great weapon coming out of the backfield, but he can’t carry the Tigers forever.

They’ll face a Wake Forest team that’s pretty good at putting up points, even against tough competition. With all the question marks surrounding Clemson right now, I have to go Deacons here. The line doesn't look too bad.

Pick:
Wake Forest Demon Deacons +16
