CFB | Idaho Vandals (1-0) at Washington Huskies (1-0)

The Idaho Vandals will travel to play the Washington Huskies in a non-conference game in week two.

The Washington Huskies are 1-0 after beating Rutgers by a score of 48-13 to open the season. Washington scored 24 points in the first quarter and never looked back as they blew out the Scarlet Knights. The Washington offense is averaging 48 points per game with 91 rushing yards and 289 passing yards per game this season. Jake Browning threw for 287 yards and 3 touchdowns in the opening win. Myles Gaskin rushed for 57 yards on 15 attempts for Washington. John Ross caught 5 passes for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ross also added a 92-yard kick return for a touchdown for Washington. The Washington defense gave up 13 points with 168 passing yards and 136 rushing yards against Rutgers. Keishawn Bierria led the Washington defense with 12 tackles, while Brandon Beaver led Washington with 1 interception in their opening game. Cameron Van Winkle was 2-3 on field goals, with his longest being 45 yards.

The Idaho Vandals are 1-0 after beating Montana State by a score of 20-17 in their first game of the season. Idaho scored all 20 points in the first half, but was able to hang on for the win. The Idaho offense is averaging 20 points per game with 229 rushing yards and 128 passing yards per game. Matt Linehan threw for 128 yards and 1 interception in the opening game. Aaron Duckworth rushed for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns for Idaho. Deon Watson caught 2 passes for 67 yards to lead the Idaho receivers. The Idaho defense gave up 17 points with 195 passing yards and 110 rushing yards in their first game. Tony Lashley led the Idaho defense with 9 tackles and 1 sack, while Siavii Russell added 1 interception for the Vandals. Austin Rehkow was 2-2 on field goals, with his longest being 44 yards.

Idaho is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 September games. The over is 5-1 in Idaho’s last 6 games. Washington is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The over is 4-0 in Washington’s last 4 games.

Washington is the better team in this matchup and should win this game very easily. Idaho did get a win in week 1, but still struggled with Montana State. I don’t see Idaho being able to deal with the physicality that Washington will bring to this game. I like Washington to win big.
