CFB | Washington Huskies (7-5) at Washington State Cougars (3-8)

The Washington State Cougars and the Washington Huskies face off in their Pac-12 rivalry game for the Apple Cup.

The Washington State Cougars have had a rough year and have lost five of their last six games and they won’t be going to a bowl this year. Washington State is averaging 33.5 pointsand 530.4 yards per game and are led by QB Luke Falk who has completed 66.5 percent of his passes with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions since being forced into action with the injury to Connor Halliday. Jamal Morrow has rushed for 346 yards to leads the Wazzu ground game while Vince Mayle has 101 receptions and nine touchdowns as WSU’s leading receiver but Isiah Myers ahs 75 receptions and 12 touchdowns, and River Cracraft has 63 catches and seven touchdowns. Defensively Washington State is allowing 39.3 points and 442.7 yards per game with seven takeaways and 28 sacks. Daquawn Brown has 75 tackles, Jeremiah Allison has 73 tackles, and Kache Palacio has 6.5 sacks. A win here would go a long way for team morale in the offseason at Washington State.

The Washington Huskies are 7-5 this season and they are coming off of a convincing win against Oregon State. The Washington offense is averaging 30.8 points and 386.2 yards per game and are led by QB Cyler Miles who has completed 67.1 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and two interceptions. Lavon Coleman leads the UW ground attack with 538 yards and a touchdown and Jaydon Mickens is the Huskies top receiver with 48 catches and three touchdowns. The Washington defense is allowing 25.3 points and 408.3 yards per game with 24 takeaways and 45 sacks. John Timu has 90 tackles, Danny Shelton has 84 tackles, and Budda Baker has 69 tackles. Washington still has some room to et better to compete with the top tier Pac-12 teams.

Washington State is 15-6-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 home games, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six games. Washington is 11-4 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 2-6 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread, and 1-4 against the spread following a win by 20 or more points. The underdog has covered the point spread in 14 of the last 19 meetings of these two.

Traditionally this has ben a rivalry where you can really throw the record book out but I am going to fall for it once again taking the favorite and laying the points.
