The Western Michigan Broncos and Ohio Bobcats meet Friday night in the college football MAC title game at Ford Field on ESPN2.
The Western Michigan Broncos hope to finish the season undefeated for the first time in school history. The Western Michigan Broncos look to win their fourth conference title and first since the 1988 CFB season. Zach Terrell is completing 71.7 percent of his passes for 3,086 yards, 30 touchdowns and one interception. Terrell has two or more touchdown passes in eight of his last nine games. Corey Davis and Michael Henry have combined for 1,994 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns while Carrington Thompson has 32 receptions. The Western Michigan Broncos ground game is averaging 247.2 yards per contest, and Jarvion Franklin leads the way with 1,266 yards and 12 touchdowns. Defensively, Western Michigan is allowing 19.2 points and 361.5 yards per game. Robert Spillane leads the Western Michigan Broncos with 98 tackles, Keion Adams has 7.5 sacks and Darius Phillips has four interceptions.
The Ohio Bobcats hope to win their ninth game of the season and beat their first ranked team in more than a decade. The Ohio Bobcats hope to win their 12th conference title and first since the 1968 CFB season. Quinton Maxwell is completing 55.6 percent of his passes for 1,247 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions. Maxwell and Greg Windham have combined for 17 touchdown passes this season. Sebastian Smith and Papi White have combined for 1,330 receiving yards and eight touchdowns while Jordan Reid has 43 receptions. The Broncos are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 Friday games and 27-10 ATS in their last 37 games overall. The Bobcats are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 Friday games. The Broncos are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings and the over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.
This is a ton of points to lay in a conference championship game, especially when Ohio has been consistent all season and all three of its losses were decided by single digits. However, you wouldn't be shocked if Western Michigan came out and just lit the Bobcats on fire with an offense that has scored no less than 34 points in 11 straight games. I like the over in this spot due to the Broncos high offense and the fact the over has hit four straight times between these two teams. This should be a fun, high scoring MAC game. Of course, what else is new?
