|Date & Time||Saturday October 10, 2015, 3:30 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Nebraska Cornhuskers -1.5 -- Over/Under: 46.5
The Wisconsin Badgers visit Memorial Stadium to take the field with the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
The Wisconsin Badgers have not looked nearly as fearsome as they have in recent years but we will see as the Big Ten schedule gets hot and heavy. The Badgers fell to 3-2 on the year following a 10-6 defeat at the hands of visiting Iowa as the offense never got going. Wisky actually outgained the Hawkeyes 320-221 but were really hurt by five turnovers. Quarterback Joel Stave connected on 21-38 for 234 yards and a pair of interceptions with some short and intermediate throws but he wasn’t consistent although the ball was spread around to nine receivers. The Badgers could not run on Iowa with Taiwan Deal leading the way with 59 yards on 15 carries.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers dropped a tough 14-13 decision at Illinois in week five as the Illini scored 14 unanswered points to erase a 13-0 deficit in the 4th quarter. The Huskers were outgained 382-282 and turned the ball over twice while Illinois was mistake free. Nebraska had very little going for them in the air with quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. completing 10-31 for 105 yards and an interception with leading receiver Cethan Carter accounting for three catches for 63 yards. Devine Ozigbo paced the Cornhuskers on the ground with 70 yards on seven carries including a 19 yard scoring run. Andy Janovich added 43 yards on eleven totes and Armstrong Jr. totaled another 38 yards but nothing to loosen up the defense.
The Badgers are 5-0 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 conference games while the over is 3-0-1 in Badgers last 4 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. The Cornhuskers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and the over is 5-1 in Cornhuskers last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record while the under is 4-1 in Cornhuskers last 5 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. The Badgers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings and the over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings. Not a game I’m ready to jump on but I’ll take the Badgers…
