|Date & Time||Saturday September 5, 2015, 8:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Alabama -10 -- Over/Under: 52
The Wisconsin Badgers and Alabama Crimson Tide play Saturday night at the AT&T Stadium.
The Wisconsin Badgers enter the season with a new head coach in Paul Chryst and hope to win double-digit games for the fifth time in seven years. Joel Stave returns at quarterback after completing 53.4 percent of his passes for 1,350 yards, nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Alex Erickson and Troy Fumagalli combined for more than 900 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Jordan Fredrick had 13 receptions as a junior. Corey Clement takes over at running back after rushing for 949 yards and nine touchdowns last season. Michael Caputo holds down the secondary after racking up 106 tackles, Vince Biegel had 7.5 sacks and Joe Schobert had 13.5 tackles for loss.
The Alabama Crimson Tide have won double-digit games seven straight seasons and enter as a playoff favorite. Jake Coker takes over at quarterback after completing 64.4 percent of his passes for 403 yards, four touchdowns and zero picks. O.J. Howard and Chris Black combined for more than 400 receiving yards while ArDarius Stewart had 12 receptions as a freshman. Derrick Henry returns at running back after racking up 990 yards and 11 touchdowns. Defensively, Reggie Ragland returns at linebacker after picking up 93 tackles, Jonathan Allen had five sacks and Cyrus Jones had three interceptions.
The Badgers are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games in September and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games. The Crimson Tide are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 neutral site games and 5-12-1 ATS in their last 18 games overall.
I'm having a hard time with this game, as Wisconsin is one of the better Big Ten teams and has a defense that will slow down the Crimson Tide. However, Alabama usually beats the hell out of teams in this spot. For the sake of the article, I'm taking the points, but I'm not real confident on this matchup on either side.
